Kazakhstan vs Latvia
UEFA – Nations League
Date: Thursday, 15 November 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Astana Arena (Astana).
Kazakhstan vs Latvia Predictions and Match Preview
Kazakhstan have suffered just one loss in four UEFA Nations League outings but this was still enough for just five points, as Georgia sit well in the clear with a top spot in Group 1 already secured. They now host Latvia for their last home outing this season and we expect them motivated to say their farewell in a good light.
Latvia have, on the other hand, earned just two and they only held off Kazakhstan and Andorra to draws at home, which hardly looks great for Mixu Paatelainen’s men. They’ve struggled to score goals and this has already proven costly in Nations League too, as they have to wait for the next chance to join League C.
Hawks will now want to capitalize on such woes and we do feel they have what it takes to do so, showing off as a tough side to beat in World Cup Qualifiers beforehand too. They have been scoring more goals at Astana Arena and we now expect more of the same, which should make it hard for Latvia to cope.
Kazakhstan vs Latvia: Head-to-head
The sides have shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Latvia already.
Kazakhstan have bagged their first win over the rivals in 2015, ending a streak of four head-to-head clashes without a win.
We’ve seen just three goals in the sides’ last four matchups, which does hold a promise of another narrow occasion.
Kazakhstan vs Latvia: Prediction
We will back Kazakhstan to turn it their way now and we’ll go for a Home win at 1.66, which does seem like value as they boast more depth in quality and generally higher ranking at this point. We do feel they’ll be convincing up front and the visitors should have troubles in Astana.
However, we don’t feel Latvia will not have shots fired and with that in mind, we’ll also stick with Over 2.5 goals FT at 2.37 in the hope we’ll see goals on both ends and an exciting contest on the day. Both sides will be motivated to bag some points towards the end of the campaign in Group 1 and this has seen support from many in the know too.
